Story: Rick is a police officer who has been unconscious in hospital for several months after being shot during a mission. When he wakes up, he realizes that the world around him has been conquered by zombies (the moving dead), and he seems to be the only living person. He travels to Atlanta to find his family, where he encounters a group of survivors who have settled outside the city. His wife, Laurie, and son, Carl, as well as his best friend, Sheen, are among the survivors. Now he and the other survivors must find a way to survive in a world full of the moving dead.
